Eating chocolate may lower the risk of stroke

The consumption of chocolate may reduce risk of stroke, according to a study from McMaster University in Hamilton (Canada) that was announced during the annual meeting of the American Academy of Neurology which was held in Toronto.

Another study found that eating chocolate may lower the risk of death after a stroke. The authors explain that chocolate is rich in antioxidants called flavonoids, which may have a protective effect against stroke but more research is needed. (more…)
