Ways to prevent obesity may be varied. All entries must be based on proper diet and exercise in practice. However, a new study says there is another alternative to avoid the evil of overweight: psychotherapy.

The authors of this study randomly assigned 38 adolescent girls to attend sessions of psychotherapy or health education classes. During a period of one year, those who conducted psychotherapy were more likely to stabilize or reduce their body mass index, a key measure to assess obesity.
